Its the story of a 24 year old cricket prodigy from Jaisalmer, Rajasthan ( Harman Baweja). He manages to thunderbolt his way into the team, simply by speaking his mind to Team India's coach (Dilip Tahil). Too much nepotism, he exclaims and asks for a chance for true talent to explode on the crease. The coach agrees and the small town boy leaves the sand dunes, his Gandhian daddy (Anupam Kher) and best buddy (Amrita Rao) back home for the floodlights, the parties, the sponsorships, the ad campaigns, the big money.
It doesn't really take long for the super agents (Gulshan Grover) to snoop on to him and transform him from a run-getter to a money minting machine. Thus begins the downfall of the seedha-saadha desh-bhakt, who came with a flag in his bag and ended up bearing flak for his arrogance, commercialism and misconstrued priorities. But it is the glamour and the glitter of this very demi-god status that makes the young, vulnerable small-town boy Vijay stray from his true vocation of cricket. Unfortunately this leads to a loss of focus and to a miserable drop in his performance. But by the time Vijay realizes the error of his ways, it is too late and he finds himself thrown out of the Indian cricket team because of disciplinary reasons. Suddenly the hero of the cricket crazy India becomes a villain in everyone’s eyes. His father Ram Shekhawat’s dreams are shattered and suffers a paralytic stroke. This tragedy awakens Vijay's conscience and sense of honor. He wants to redeem himself in the eyes of his father and every Indian.
Against great odds, he once again makes it back to the Indian team and gets to play in the finals of the Champion’s trophy against Australia where he plays a stellar role in enabling India to win the Trophy. Indeed, a topical story that sees the phoenix rise once again, literally with the last ball of the last match, despite a blurry vision and a broken head.
Worth watching at least once even if its for the cricket stuff. To watch and download the movie Victory 2009 movie torrent click on the link below.

Bollywood at Gitanjali Fashion Week 2009
As usual a lot of our Bollywood actresses ( and also actors this time) graced the Gitanjali Fashion Week 2009 with their presence on the ramp. I have often wondered how much they are paid ( are they ?) by the designer to walk the ramp for publicity. If it is for publicity then Rocky S could have done better I think than Raima Sen ( considering how many movie stars he makes clothes for!!) But again this time Vikram Phadnis stole the show with the coolest celebs walking for him. The show over several days saw Katrina Kaif,Sameera Reddy,Parvathy Omanakuttan,Amrita Rao,Harman Baweja,Neha Dhupia,Raima Sen,Celina Jaitley,Sayali Bhagat,Prachi Desai. Here are some of my favorite photos of our celebs from throughout the Gitanjali Fashion 2009

Amrita Rao receives emails from Russia with Love
A little birdy told me that Amrita Rao is a huge hit in Russia. She was pleasantly surprised to know that after being sent emails from her Russian well-wishers. She was apparently really touched by the email of her Russian fan, a girl named Naritsyna Yekaterina who had written to her claiming that, she has not only seen every film of hers almost 20 to 30 times, but also feels like she’s known her forever.
